Breitling Callisto steel & gold manual wind chronograph circa 1990. The watch presents very well as a luxury timepiece. The deep blue dial has sunken golden tone subdials. The sapphire crystal is very good condition and has Anti-Reflective treatment giving the dial a rich hue. The 60 click uni-directional bezel turns nicely and has 4 solid gold rider tabs, one of which is a generic gold replacement. The steel case is in very good shape; it has been polished but you can still make out the model number B11045 on the case back. These Callisto models were produced for a limited time run from 1987 to 1992. This watch houses a numbered manual wind Lemania 1873 movement in full working condition, it keeps excellent time over 24 hours and the 3 register chronograph starts, stops and resets as it should. This vintage model (173.206) with quickset function hails from the earliest days of the TAG takeover of Heuer (circa 1985) and it is a very sought after collectable. Great looking and rarely seen black dial semi Bubbleback Rolex Oyster Perpetual automatic watch dated by the serial number on the case, 709186, to approximately 1950. The black dial with raised numerals and the hands are both original and have the original radium lume that was used in this period.
A slight paint loss has been noted to the text that would normally appear on the lower central part of the dial, just a hint of gold paint remains (likely from cleaning dial), text on upper part of dial (Oyster Perpetual) and text at very bottom (Swiss) are in tact and perfect. A serial number, 30856 appears on the movement. The case has two reference numbers, 6084 between the lugs and 6108 inside the caseback. Rolex was known to sometimes change case backs and crowns when the watches came in for service if deemed appropriate and this is likely the reason for the different numbers and a slightly more recent original Rolex crown. The watch runs well and keeps good time on the wrist. Most importantly it houses the now quite rare Lemania 5100 movement (used in Omegas and others) with the centrally mounted, orange tipped, chrono seconds and 60 minute chronograph counter and 24 hour display in the subdial at the 12. The JLC caliber P 815 movement works, auto winds and keeps time on the wrist. The silvered dial (first dial styling of Jaeger bumper automatics) and hands on this are in completely original and untouched condition; the dial is superb. The lume lights up faintly right through the night. The 3 part steel case in good shape. The alarm triggers right on the arrow; the clearly audible buzz runs down but can seem a little uneven at times. Both the watch and alarm wind and set without issue. Vintage Tissot Stadium 2 reg. chronograph with iconic Lemania 1277 movement (Omega cal 320) circa 1967 housed in a 3 piece steel case and in good working order. The dial is clean to naked eye and easy to read, under magnification it shows an even patina. Watch winds, sets and keeps time. The chronograph both operates and resets effortlessly.
These mid 1960s Tissot chronographs bear an uncanny resemblance to many Omega 320 and 321 chronographs from the same period (Omega and Tissot were sharing Lemania made movements at that time.) As mentioned above this watch is powered by a Lemania 1277 which indeed is the Omega 320. The Lemania movement serial number dates the watch back to circa March 1967. Mid 50’s vintage automatic Giroxa triple date moonphase calendar watch in yellow gold filled case. The GIROXA trademark was registered in 1953 by BELVIL WATCH CO., S. A. in LA CHAUX-DE-FONDS, Switzerland. The silvered dial is very well preserved as are the original hands. Watch is powered by the quite rare and collectable Felsa 693 automatic movement. Automatic moon phases with the Felsa 693 are getting hard to find, especially in this nice condition. This watch looks great on the wrist, a real conversation piece. Tissot Super Navigator T12 World Time Compressor with 24 hour dial circa 1969. Watch is in good physical and mechanical condition with original dial, two signed crowns and original signed steel bracelet. The Tissot 21 jewel automatic movement works well and keeps time. Below is a translation of French manual above (from Chuck Maddox website) :
Super T-12 Navigator
Réf. 44596: Large sized diver’s watch, super-tight (Water resistance guaranteed up to 200 meters deep). This watch has 24 hours time dial, not 12, the hour hand rotates the dial every 24 hours, corresponding to the earth rotating the sun (or earth around it’s axis), the standard time is thus read from 1 to 24 hours.
Instructions:
Internal rotating bezel is actuated by means of the crown located above the date. It’s dial’s 24 divisions which corresponds to the 24 time zones. The bezel also has 24 divisions (in the lieu of a conventional watch’s 12 divisions) and as a result the hour hand makes only one turn of the dial of every 24 hours. Navigator thus gives the local hour and that of the other time zones. Example: you are in Sydney. It is 19 h. 08 and you want to know the current time in Geneva. Knowing that there is a 9 hour backwards shift between Sydney and Geneva, you adjust the internal bezel to match the local hour hand indicated. Vintage Union Special triple date moonphase circa 1940s. The Venus 222 17 jewel manual wind movement works perfectly and keeps accurate time over 24 hours. The moon, day and date all turn over around midnight; the 3 case pushers quickset all 4 calendar functions (the lower right pusher corrects both the date and the moon phase at different depths, as designed.) IWC International Watch Company Schaffhausen automatic GST chronograph ref 3707 with Titanium case and bracelet.
