1950’s Watch Advertisement

This is a fine example of USA made Hamilton Sherman tank case wristwatch in, less common, White Gold Filled case with lightly patinaed sterling silver dial with rhodium plated 18K gold markers and numerals. Although The Hamilton Sherman watch was only officially released in 1953 and only offered for one year it is dated by serial number to 1952. I don’t know for sure but it would make sense that some 1953 models were actually released and on offer for Christmas 1952 and the serial number shows that the movement was made fairly early in the production run (first 14%), in any case this is a 1953 model which was produced in 1952. The movement is an American made high grade 19 jewel caliber 753, marked USA on movement, number 14112 of a total production of 103400. The watch keeps very good time and is super clean and was reported by previous owner to have been serviced recently but actual service date in unknown. White gold filled 50’s vintage Hamilton watches are not often seen, this is a great find! Watch comes on a 16 mm Hersch Lizardlook leather strap.
