This 1950’s Tudor Advertisement quotes Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf, introducing the TUDOR brand and officially linking it to Rolex.
“I HAVE DECIDED THAT THE TUDOR PRINCE DESERVES TO SHARE WITH ROLEX TWO ADVANTAGES I WOULD ALLOW NO OTHER WATCH TO USE – THE FAMOUS AND UNIQUE WATERPROOF OYSTER CASE AND THE ORIGINAL SELF-WINDING PERPETUAL ’ROTOR’ MECHANISM. ALL TUDOR OYSTER PRINCES WILL HAVE THESE TWO EXCEPTIONAL FEATURES, PREVIOUSLY EXCLUSIVE TO ROLEX. THIS INDICATES, I THINK, THE MEASURE OF OUR FAITH IN THE NEW WATCH. I AM PROUD TO GIVE MY PERSONAL ENDORSEMENT.”

This is a great looking Tudor Prince-Oysterdate 34 automatic circa 1958 with original champagne patinaed small rose logo dial, roulette date and updated Rolex screw down crown. The Tudor auto Prince movement has just been serviced by our watchmaker and is in excellent working condition. The case back reference and serial numbers, 7944/228960 indicates an estimated production date of 1958. Case is gold filled top with steel back and lug distance is 18 mm (bracelet width). For anyone not familiar with term roulette date, that is to say that the day color alternates from black to red from day to day. Photos are not actual size of watch, the case measures 34 mm across (not including crown) x 43 mm lug to lug and is fit as found with a good condition used leather bracelet (if requested we will replace with new leather).
