Rare and collectible vintage Seiko GMT World Time automatic watch from 1964. Please note: case back is not original. The model number is 6217 7000. This watch is from a series made specifically for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The Seiko 6217A movement powering this watch is in full working order and keeps accurate time on the wrist. The 24 hour hand accurately shows the elapsed time on the inner ring. The quickset date changes from crown position 2; the inner bezel turns freely from crown position 1. Time setting is from position 3. (This model does not have manual winding; it winds and starts up with a few shakes to the rotor.)
The steel case is in overall good condition, the large Seiko crown is the correct one for this model, but the case back is not original. The original crystal is fairly good, legibility is clear but it does have 2 small cracks at the 6. and a small scuff at the edge. The watch has its original silvered linen dial which is in nice overall condition, as are the hands. The inner turning world cities bezel is in pristine shape with one small stain. Photos are magnified and show details not seen by naked eye, the case measures 38 mm across (not including crown) x 43 mm lug to lug. It comes as found on a rubber strap as pictured.
