This is an Omega model that is rarely seen, the Grand Sport automatic was only distributed in Canada from 1969 – 1972 and was part of Omega’s “International collection”. Made in the first production year (1969) of the international collection that used case ref 166.070 with either a cal 563 or 565 movement and various dial markings (some just marked Omega Automatic), this watch uses the higher quality 24 jewels cal 565 movement (serial #31441906 and is in excellent working condition. Case is gold plated, winding crown is signed and screw back is stainless steel. The crown has 3 positions, date is quickly advanced by pulling crown out all the way (3rd position), each time crown is pulled out date advances, setting time is done in 2nd position and normal use and manual wind in first position. Photos are not actual size of watch, it measures 34 mm across (not including crown) x 41 mm lug to lug and is fit with a leather bracelet.
