Unusual Lisieux officer’s military watch circa 1915 with porcelain dial and hinged case with wire lugs. The dial is skewed by the positioning of the lugs at 11 and 5 o’clock (instead of 12 & 6) which allows the wearer to view the time with less movement of the wrist. This heritage timepiece has been completely overhauled and is in excellent working and physical condition, it is hard to believe that it is almost 100 years old! Case is nickel chrome, movement is 15 jewels and is marked with (unknown) caliber # HZ 1162. I have never come across another timepiece with the name Lisieux, most likely it is a private label (jeweller’s name) from Lisieux, France. Photos are not actual size of watch, it measures 34 mm across (not including crown) x 38 mm lug to lug. Watch is fit with a new leather cuff type military strap.
