This early 1900’s Gold Longines was made for the famous Jeweller Mappin & Webb just a few years before the first world war. It is an early version of what became very popular during the war years and is often referred to as a trench watch. The watch is signed Longines on the excellent condition porcelain dial and is powered by a 19 jewel adjusted Longines cal 13.98 movement which is signed Mappin & Webb, Westminster. The case is solid gold, 14K and is signed A.W.C. Co, it snaps shut tight but original hinge is no longer functioning. This watch is in excellent working condition. Photos are not actual size of watch, it measures 33mm across (not including crown) x 38mm lug to lug. Watch is supplied on a good condition/used military type leather bracelet.
