Heuer Autavia Ref. 11630MH automatic chronograph circa 1972 with black dial, grey registers and yellow highlights. The watch is powered by Heuer / Buren cal 12 movement and has bi-directional rotating minute / hour (MH) bezel. The stainless steel case and bezel show usage but case has crisp lines and appears to be in unpolished condition. The name Autavia comes from a combination of two words: Automotive & Aviation and was originally associated with Heuer dashboard clocks in automobiles and aircraft. In the early 1960’s the Autavia name was used on Heuer chronograph wristwatches for the first timer. Since its launch in 1962, the Autavia became one of the go to chronographs for the racing community with the first automatic chronograph (cal 11) being launched in 1969.
