Rare and unusual forties vintage hooded lug three button Lorie chronograph featuring original dial with red, black and gold painted numerals and red and gold hands. The chrono is operated with three buttons, the usual upper and lower buttons stop and start the chrono and the third button which is incorporated into the winding crown resets to “0”. The dial is signed “Lorie” and Landeron movement is signed “Lorie Watches”. Oversize 37 mm triple date moonphase chronograph with 2 register from the mid 1960s. Watch is in a pink gold filled case with steel back and is powered by a very rare manual wind Landeron caliber 186 movement. All functions work correctly, and the watch works with a strong beat and keeps accurate time. There are 4 calendar correctors on the case sides and 2 square chrono pushers. All reset as they should. Great looking colorful and complicated Wakmann Regate Sailor’s chronograph with interesting provenance, attributed to American Spy John Walker. Wakmann was founded in 1943 first in Europe then moved to New York and became Breitling’s official US import partner in 1947 and also sold Wakmann-branded watches that were partly or mostly made with Breitling parts. This 1970’s vintage automatic chronograph has a rotating inner bezel, quick date, sweep chrono hand, pointer minute register hand, sub seconds and sub 12 hour register. The rotating inner bezel is controlled by left side crown at 10 o’clock, bezel has days repeated in 5 different colors which represent weeks of month, line up day with date at beginning of each month to use monthly calendar. The Lemania 1341 movement has been was serviced by our watchmaker and all functions are working flawlessly. Photos are not actual size of watch, the case measures 42 mm across (not including crown) x 47 mm lug to lug and is fit with a NATO bracelet. This watch is said to have been purchased in an auction of the seized assets of convicted American spy John Walker, this is what I was told by the collector that I purchased it from but no documentation was provided. This is a very rarely seen early bumper Omega (cal 28.10.R) with sub seconds, circa 1943 vintage, in a very unusual case with a two piece press in case back (back cover and snap on bezel). This rare type of back was made in very small quantities. Case ref 2375, movement serial number 9810288. The two tone silver dial has been professionally refinished and looks great. The 17 jewel bumper automatic movement is in excellent working condition and has been serviced by our watchmaker. Photos are not actual size of watch, it measures 32 mm across (not including crown) x 40 mm lug to lug and is fit with a lightly used leather bracelet. (will be changed for a new bracelet if requested by buyer)
