This is a rare 1955 “butterfly rotor” Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust ref 6605 in 14k gold case with roulette date, fluted bezel and original dial with heavy yellow patina and dart shaped hour markers. This very desirable Rolex features the highly collectable cal 1065 automatic movement which was only produced for a few years in the mid 50’s and has a unique rotor with a cutaway section in the form of a butterfly. The date aperture shows the date in red on even days and black on odd days, and is known as a roulette date. The 14K gold case has the ref (6605) and serial numbers (257560) marked between the lugs, it is 1955 vintage and fully signed inside and on the screw down crown. This watch has been recently serviced by our watchmaker and is in excellent working condition. Photos are not actual size, watch measures 35 mm across (not including crown) x 44 mm lug to lug and is fit with a new leather bracelet
